Under my skin

Ophidophobia (the abnormal fear of snakes) is one of the most reported phobias worldwide, but what is the nature of fear we experience? Is it an evolution-related fear or maybe we lost our connection to nature? Under my skin is a mixed media project, in which I deal with snakes as a part of the vast nature that we need to unify with again, especially in times as such. The project consists of a photo series of snakes, body art self portraits and video installations. The imagery of the human body and nature starts a dialogue about familiarity and complexity of their relation as the human body turns to an already painted canvas which reflects nature.
